I struggle to write about myself, so instead I thought that I would write about the reasons behind setting up James Lyle Photography for my biography page. James Lyle Photography is currently just a hobby and I am using this website as a tool to share some of my pictures. I am not particularly interested in commissions because my photography is personal to my own interests and a way for me to switch off from my other demands in life. I find that it can be very easy to get caught up in the daily rush and routine, so photography is calming outlet for me. I really enjoy taking the time to appreciate my surroundings and the small things in life, which can give so much pleasure.

So, at this moment in time, my James Lyle Photography website has been set up purely for fun. I want to be able to look back on my journey into the world of amateur photography, while also allowing my friends and social networks a chance to see some of my work (if they want to!).

Photography is a hobby that I find very therapeutic. To be honest, my interest in this area was mainly sparked by my love of nature and wildlife. In a world where we are constantly distracted by commercial activities, politics and materialistic things, I think it is really important to appreciate the planet and our natural surroundings.

The simple things in life can help you live peacefully and harmoniously and this is what I want to reflect through my James Lyle Photography website. You will see uncomplicated images of nature, such as spring flowers and landscape shots. I also have a passion for wildlife and animals. That said, I find this part of photography much more difficult. I have learnt that you need a tremendous amount of patience to get a perfect picture when an animal is involved.
